Initially, I purchase embryos from proven cow families from several top French breeders including Ms Champeval, Lagrafeuil, Laugautriere and Touquet.

I am very happy with the results:

Hartlaw Ulea and Hartlaw Cleopatra are both by Hammel Luc, a Danish Grand Champion, out of Halea. Halea is a cow with an exceptionally high index score; her daughter Myrtille was a champion in Paris in 1999.

After being under bidder for Ravenelle, who was bought by Wilodge and is the mother of Wilodge Vantastique, we bought embryos of the same breeding and bred Hartlaw Beatrice and Hartlaw Benedict both by Jersey out of Isabelle.

Hartlaw Beatrice was sold at my production sale in September 2009 for a top price of 10,000gns to Smiths of Bloxham.

An open flush from Glenrock Juniper was purchased at the ILC Elite Sale in 2004.  The flush produced two of our best cows, Hartlaw Blueberry and Hartlaw Bluebell, sired by Nenuphar, and Hartlaw Bilbo, one of our stock bulls, sired by Heros. 

Blueberry and Bluebell are producing quality progeny with good skeletal and muscle development, exceptional top line and thickness of loin.
